18 March PDA Conference 2020
The PDA Society is bringing together leading international experts to look at how the Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profile of autism is understood in 2020. Keynote Speaker, Dr Wenn Lawson, is world-renowned for his combination of academic inquiry and personal insight. The day will explore a range of complex issues around the nature of demand avoidance itself, impacts on communication, relationships, education, child behaviour, eating and mental health. Speakers will also address navigating social care and education systems. Other speakers include: Dr Judy Eaton - 'The Clinical Approach to diagnosis of the PDA Profile'; Geoff Evans – Behaviour that Challenges; Cathleen Long - 'Navigating Social Care'; Dr Elizabeth Shea - 'PDA, Mental Health and Eating'; Libby Hill - 'PDA and Speech and Language Therapy'; Harry Thompson - 'The Natural Habitat of a PDAer' plus a worshop by Ruth Fidler.
